Der NADENT hat alle Normungsaufgaben des Dentalgebietes zu bearbeiten. Er arbeitet eng mit auf den Nachbargebieten tätigen Normenausschüssen, wie z.B. dem NAMed (NA Medizin), dem NAR (NA Radiologie), der DKE (Deutsche Kommission Elektrotechnik, Elektronik Informationstechnik) und dem NAFuO (NA Feinmechanik und Optik) zusammen.
